where can an employer cancel a work visa?

If an employee leaves a job and is on a Z visa, can the employer cancel her  work permit? My reading of the posts is that the answer is yes. I was wondering where would the employer go and also, is the employer "required" to do so by law or regulations or just that an employer may do so because it wants to?

I also assume that her visa, which is in her passport, cannot  be cancelled by the employer?

Thanks for any responses.

Glad to answer your question.
Yes, the employer has the right to cancel her work permit if she already left this job. It's legal the follow the rules, not because they want to do that.
Cause there is no labour employment between the company and your friend. The work permit is like a certificate that prove the employment relationship. No employment, no work permit.
They can cancel and have to cancel the work permit but not the visa.
She can apply a new work permit once she get the release letter, cancellation certificate of the work permit and some related documents for her next Z visa application.

Hope the info is useful for you.
