looking for update info about hiv travel ban

Hallo everybody. I am an hiv+man who has been offered a job in China for one year and therefore a Z working visa is needed. For that I will need a medical test, or I will undergo one there. I know there is a travel ban on hiv+ people, although the minister of health has publicly stated it will be lifted. I would like to go and must carry a big supply of medicines; since I will not discover my status as I would be refused entry (if legislation has not changed, and I cannot find any updated info), my only chance is if procedures have changed recently, i.e. no medical test is required, and bet on them not opening my luggage and asking me why I did not declare my status...I cannot certainly say I was unaware...Who can inform me about this better than somebody who has recently been there? I really would like to go and, although I can risk to be sent back, I do not feel at all like being accused of lying, so they might take it as a criminal offence and my sojourn in China wouldn't be the most pleasant, I guess...

Anybody out there to help me....with a certain urgence?

Thanks so much

You can search the internet for news about that, but the resource most people in Shanghai go to is www.visainchina.com they are usually very up to date and reliable, and if your plans don't, uh, go according to plan, they can always help you sort something out to extend your stay while you look for your solution. Best of luck!

@Impromptu:
I'm in the same situation (hiv+, cd4 850+, undetectable) on meds and need to apply for Z visa which I probably won't get -based on the information I have read so far about the medical testing and HIV.

Any suggestions, experiences? Is ID always required for medical testing?
