 What does the medical test check for?

I have not been able to find a conclusive information that is current. I am arriving in China on an L visa. To get it converted to a Z visa I need to get a medical exam, what does the bloodtest check for?

Would one be denied a Z visa because of the prescence of Herpes on the bloodtest? Does the test even check for that?

 

Ps. Is there any distinction between Oral Herpes and Genital Herpes?

When I got the blood test last fall, it checked for AIDS/HIV and syphilis. On the medical test, there was no reference to herpes anywhere on the report results (no indication that it was tested for). I don't imagine that things would have changed since September, so you should be fine.
As far as your medical questions go, I would consult a doctor. They could not only clear up any classification questions you have, but they would be able to tell you if it's even possible to test for herpes via a blood test. If they can't, then you're certainly home free as far as the Z visa medical test is concerned!
