working in China, living in HK

I currently live and work in Hong Kong. However, I've just been offered a job in Shenzhen. I don't want to move to SZ, but will commute from HK.

My questions are:
1. what sort of visa do I need? I've had an F visa for the past 15 years, do I need a 'Z' visa to work in China?

2. I understand that a Z visa needs to be converted into a residents visa - what do I do if I do not intend to be a resident?

any ideas?

thanks

Hi HKR,

For your case, I would suggest you to apply for a Z working visa since its the only legal visa working in China. But, the truth is there r some foreigners working in China with F visa, that wont cause a problem if the police wont check u.

Guess you will get a lot of Entry stamp stamps on your passport, hehe...

With any more questions, il b glad to help.

Have a great weekend.

The exact name of China work visa is Residence Permit (purpose: for work). You will not be a resident. It is only the name...
For more details about the work visa, please refer to the following link.

And if you commute between HK and Shenzhen, your passport will be eaten up by stamps quite soon. In that case, you'd better reside in Shenzhen in that case.
