Qingjiao Tudou Si (pronounced ching-jyao too-dough sih) is one of the most popular dishes in China, available in every province, region and special economic zone of the country. It's a surefire winner everytime out.

Quite literally pepper (qingjiao) and potato (tudou) strips (si, regular readers will recall previous posts like Jingjiang Rou Si and Yuxiang Rou Si), Qingjiao Tudou Si is a staple of existence in China, both basic and delicious.

While some restaurants tend to lightly pan fry the peppers and potatoes in oil, others prefer to drench the ingredients is oil and marinade (pictured). Either way, Qingjiao Tudou Si is a versatile addition to your meal.

"Always hungry, never full . . . "
