Ponce de Leon may have travelled to Florida during the age of exploration in search of the fountain of youth, but it's clear after visiting the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong that he was way off course.

With their world-famous spa (one of only three 5-star spas in Hong Kong and 18 worldwide), classic Hong Kong-style barber, celebrity salon and well-equipped fitness center, the Mandarin offers its guests every luxury available, ensuring that a stay at the MOHK is a healthy stay.

The Mandarin Spa

Combining eastern spa treatments with a modern philosophy that focuses on physical, emotional and mental wellbeing, The Mandarin Spa is regarded as the finest facility of its kind in China and Hong Kong.

Massage styles include Thai, Swedish, aromatherapy, therapeutic, aroma stone, body and bump and quintessence body scrub. Also on offer: hydrotherapy and bath treatments and facials including lift, age repair, super hydradermie, men's facial and caviar collagen treatments. There are also \Ayurvedic Indian and Traditional Chinese Medicine specialists, trained in reflexology, facial acupuncture, nutrition and hair mineral analysis.

The spa offers guests the comforts of several private suites, including the Jasmine Suite and the couples Kukui Suite, in which to embark on their day-long spa treatments, providing maximum relaxation and revitalization.

Hong Kong barber, Shanghainese pedicure and salon

From hair and nails, to feet and a shave, the Mandarin barber and salon offer every style option from conservative cuts to the most edgy nouveau do.

While the barbershop, which still features the same floor and décor from its 1963 opening, is known for its classic gentleman's haircuts and straight-blade shaves, it's their Shanghainese, long-blade pedicure that earned the barbershop "Spa of the Year for Men" by AsiaSpa magazine.

On the women's side, the salon regularly imports talented, famous hairstylists from around the world to offer Hong Kong a dose of the latest style trends from New York, London, Los Angeles and Paris.

Fitness
Center

Featuring a number of Kinesis weight machines, a dozen treadmills, a half dozen elliptical machines and a free weight area, the Mandarin's fitness center is a clean, quiet and comfortable arena for guests desiring a rigorous workout.

The staff is attentive and helpful, offering guests exercise advice and supervision, without being overbearing or intrusive.

After working out, head to the locker room, disrobe and move on to the steam room, where herbal tea blends are released through the steamer, creating a cinnamon-y aroma that will relax even the most tired, post-workout lungs and muscles. There is also a sauna and swimming pool available.

Additionally, access to the Mandarin fitness center is not limited to hotel guests; annual membership can be obtained for HKD 45,000, plus a one-time-only HKD 6,000 joining fee.
