I keep on hearing that phrase over and over again, and I'm just wondering how much of that is hype. Is Hangzhou really that amazing?

I know there is a big lake there, is it gorgeous and clean? Is the air fresh, does the place feel relaxed and inviting? I'm just wondering whether I should visit, but they've built it up so much, I'm worried it'll be a disappointment so I'm looking for second opinions.

If the consensus is that it's great I'll go, if not, I'll pick somewhere else to go. Let me know what you think! Thanks!
