Do Not Touch! Expo Visitors Get Too Hands On

We pointed out in an Expo feature a few weeks ago what a shame it was to see so many "Do Not Touch" signs plastered all over the exhibits.

As we saw in several pavilions, most notably Africa and the Pacific, people just can't keep their hands to themselves and, according to this article from China Daily, it's becoming quite a problem. Apparently, just two months into the show, a quick grope isn't enough for some and exhibits are being damaged and even going missing (which admittedly make for far cooler souvenirs to put on your mantelpiece than an inflatable Haibao or an Expo passport).

Thankfully the problem seems more limited to over-enthusiastic tactile enjoyment rather than criminal intent, like this innocent-looking bunch we snapped on our visit (you try sneaking out with that camel!):

Hands On Expo:

They're not kidding when they say they put plenty of signs up, but these printed pieces of paper are no match for the feisty pair clambering up on this African loom/adventure playground.

A little boy gets ready to set sail in a hand-carved wooden canoe, somewhere near Papua New Guinea.

One, two, three... everybody say "camel"

"They would look nice in our living room, wouldn't they dear?"
