Swine flu is easily transferred to workplace surfaces such as door handles, hand rails, phones, keyboards and soft furnishings.it can live on a hard surface for up to 24 hours, and soft surface for 20 minutes. Workplace hygiene precautions include:clean surfaces regularly

 provide hand hygiene - e.g. alcohol-based handrubs in toilets and entrances

 use physical barriers - e.g. screens - to restrict contact with potentially ill customers
