Buying train ticket to Hangzhou

We will be flying into Shanghai on 9 April around 1pm.  We are planning to take a train (Dong Che) to Hangzhou directly.  Since we won't be checking into a hotel, we can't get hotel concierge to help purchase tickets.

How do other visitor buy the ticket since I can't find any on-line booking site?

After Hangzhou, we will be returning to Shanghai.  We are staying at Pudong.  Which train station should I use when taking train from Hangzhou to Shanghai?

We just returned today from Shanghai after visiting Hanghzhou. We took the train from Hanghzhou to Shanghai South Railroad Station then took the metro to our hotel near the ShanghaiRailroad Station. Note there is a South station and a Shanghai Railroad Station. In Hangzhou they don't speak as much english as inShanghai. However, if you just go to a ticket window they will get someone to help you. We had no problem. We bought our ticket the night before so we were able to do a trial run to the station and find where we needed to be.

Train system is amazingand so is the metro in Shanghai. We booked ahotel in Hanghzhou near the train station. It was a nicewalk up to West Lake. We had noneed to use buses or meto in Hanghzhou except bus from airport to city.

FYI, any hotels you book inChina try to have the address in Chinese. Most hotel lbookings from China do this. It really makes it easier. Cabs are inexpensive but not many cab drivers speak english. I would also bring a Chinese/english vocab book just incase you get stuck...you can always point. Train to Shanghai was about 14 USD.
