Which visa type is best for this situation?

Hello,

A slightly complex case.My other half (who is Danish) lives and works in China - he has a work permit.

I'm also Danish, and used to work in China under a work permit too but left to continue my studies. I now want to go back to China to live with my boyfriend and get a job there, but currently don't have a job and am planning to find one when I get out there.

Whats the best visa solution for me as I don't really want to have to go on a tourist visa and keep leaving the country?

Also, is there a "spouse" visa?

Thank you

Yes, there is definitely a spousal visa option, but to get it you require your marriage certificate. Are you married or is your other half just a boyfriend? If not, the only option will be to get a 90-day visa in your home country, and then change it to a 6 month business visa through an agency here in China. Most agencies don't require you to fly to Hong Kong, though on occasion the Chinese government tightens up the rules and a trip to HK becomes necessary. That's the best of my knowledge! Cheers!

Yes, what Rigby said is definitely right. If you want to get a spoural visa, you must have a marriage certificate with your husband.
If not, you should apply another kind of visa, such as tourist or business one.
There are 2 solutions for you.
1. apply a tourist visa, then come into China to do the conversion (tourist to business or to working visa).
2. apply a business invitation letter from Chinese agency, then apply a F in your own country, then enter into China with F and do the extension.
Have any questions, you can also contact Grace directly who is a professional visa consultant in China. E-mail:grace.jin@163.com or +86-13811299056.
Good luck for you~!

Hi,

Yes, there is "Spouse" visa. While it requires marriage certificate.

For your current situation, I suggest you to get an F to come to China.
If it is difficult for you to get an F without Visa Notification Form (invitation letter), you can ask help from us. We can send Visa Notification Form to you.
If it is easy for you to get an F without Visa Notification Form, it would be great.
After you come to China, you will have choices:
1) Extend the F to 6months F;
2) Extend the F to 12 months F;
3) Change the F to one year work visa.

And you still have other options:
1) Come to China with L, change the L to F or work visa after you come to China;
2) Apply for Z directly, while before it, we should prepare the Employment license and Visa notification form for you.

Could you please give me your email address or send email to me?
We can talk more there.

Hi, I found this post via a google search and was wondering how this turned out.
I am considering a job offer in China and we are a gay, legally married couple with a marriage license from Belgium. My company will sponsor me for the Z visa and I wanted to know if my husband will be able to obtain the spousal visa under my Z visa. Thanks.
