Good hotel 5 mins from lots of Beijing attractions?

I will be traveling with my family (my wife 10-year old daughter and I) for 6 days 5 nights in Beijing, an extended stopover on our way to Australia, and I'd like to know if anyone has recommendations for a very well placed 4-5 star with family-style rooms (spacious, at least 2 large beds) that allows us to explore Beijing as easily as possible. Walking distance to some restaurant/entertainment district or bazaar would probably be good. Also, any recommendations for restaurants while we are there? Thanks for all your help!

I think the best way to go about it would be to use Chinatravel.net's hotel search function. Enter Beijing for the destination, then go to the "district" field and scroll down to "Tiananment Square and Wangufing Area," (I think that's about as central as it gets) and then choose either four or five stars then click "search" and you're off to the races. There are plenty to choose from there but here are a few that I know are really good:

Legendale Hotel Beijing
Raffles Beijing Hotel
The Peninsula Beijing
The Regent Beijing. (this one comes highly recommended)

If you wanna try the homestay, I think this one is very good: www.homestayglobal.com. I've tried it , it's fantasic, and the host of the family is really nice,

A homestay could be nice... checked the site, seems legit, but all the homes I looked into are for single guests only... Any idea if there's a special section of the site I missed or can you recommend anything in particular? Sorry for the hassle and thanks for the suggestion!

Beijing has a lot of good hotels. I suggest that you use Ctrip search for Beijing hotel. You can choose one hotel.

Me and my family decided for a trip to california...we have stay there for one week...i have no any idea about californai..is there any nearby hotel which is comfortable for us to stay with my family
