Wanna try some starfish?

How about some scorpion?

But that's not all,

Our good friends at the 2008 Beijing Olympics blog have put up a post with pictures of other snacks including silkworms, seahorse and centipede. Have a look, but I would suggest that rather than just gawking at the photos, go check out the real thing by moseying on by Wanfujing food market - a must see if you're coming over for the Olympic games. Seriously, you haven't done China properly until you eat one of the crazy snack foods they have. Sure you gotta be a little brave, but c'mon - eating scorpion? That's like the mount Everest of gustatory challenges, knock that one off your bucket list and you'll be that much closer to being able to tell yourself you've led a full life.

If you want to get there, its just a few minutes walk from Tianemen square. Once on Wanfujing street it's at the north end near Xindongan Plaza. Just look for a long row of street stalls with red lanterns, you can't miss it.

Open from 6pm onwards...

Just close your eyes and say aaaaaaa....

Ya, I LOVE the night market in Beijing. So much great, weird food. I liked the Chinese version of Baked Alaska and the apple donuts. YUMMMMM.

Hmmm, that'll make scorpion even easier to try then, I was afraid that it would be crunchy with bitter green slime squishing into your mouth as you bit into it...
