In the Guiness book of records for having the largest indoor hot spring complex in the world, Haikou's Crown Spa Resort Hainan (Hainan Huangguan Binhaiwenquan Jiudian) is just a 15-minute drive from the hotel. You'll want to call the hotel and arrange airport pick-up though, the hotel is a little out of the way and few local taxi drivers speak English.

Little extras like hardwood floors and walk-out balconies set this Haikou hotel apart. Of the 330 rooms available, guests will find ample options between the ten room types, all of which are outfitted with top notch amenities, though whether these rooms qualify for a five-star rating is probably debatable.

Guests of the hotel will find a nice beach nearby, though a little on the small side, and a host of recreational options to choose from.  Of course, nobody should miss the hotel's much vaunted spa, with a myriad of exclusive treatments to choose from as well as more recognizeable Thai massages and aromatherapy.

Sporting types might want to try the tennis courts and the 50 meter pool. Pool tables and basketballs are also available, but be warned that the hotel manages to charge for almost every activity one way or another, and it isn't especially cheap.

Ten dining outlets are advertised, but not all of them are always open concurrently. If you go, you'll surely find Cantonese, spicy Hunan and Sichuan cuisine as well as innovative Dim Sum menu at Madam Wong's. There is also a noodle house, a coffee corner, and Brazilian Barbeque buffets nightly.
