Getting Around

The base rate for taxis is 5 RMB for the first three kilometers and then 1.2 RMB per additional kilometer.

To and from Yili

Air

There are three flights from Yili to Urumqi daily, taking about 50 minutes. During the journey, the plane will fly over Tian Shan Mountain and passengers can enjoy the views of the snow mountain, the desert and the lakes.

Bus

Wuyi Highway connects Yili, Shihezi and Urumqi and there is highway leading southwards to Korla and Kuche. There are buses from Yili to all the other places within the prefecture.

Yili is about 900 km from Urumqi. If you take a night bus in Urumqi, you can arrive at Yili the next morning.
