Getting Around
The base rate for taxis is 7 RMB for the first three kilometers and then 1.0-1.5 RMB per additional kilometer depending on different types of cars. If you prefer to be charged by hour, the price is ranging from 20-30 RMB per hour.
Besides, Bus No. 17 is a special tour bus line running along the seaside, from the railway station to Yantai University via 18 seaside scenic spots including the pier, Yantai Shan, No. 1 Bathing Beach, International Conference and Exhibition Center, Moon Bay, No. 2 Bathing Beach and Victoria Bay etc.
To and From Yantai
Air
Yantai Laishan International Airport is located in Laishan Town, about 15 km south to the city. There are flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Harbin, Jinan, Shenyang and Wuhan daily. Flights to other domestic cities like Changchun, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Kunming, Nanjing, Shantou, Shenzhen, Urumqi, Wenzhou, Xiamen, Xuzhou and Yanji are also available every week.
Besides, there are also flights to Hong Kong every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. International flights to Seoul are also available yet not daily.
Train
Located at the intersection of Beima Lu and Haigang Lu in downtown, Yantai Railway Station is the terminal station of Lanyan railway line (running between Lancun Town and Yantai). There are trains to Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Jiamusi, Shijiazhuang, Jinan, Qingdao, Zibo and Xuzhou daily.
Bus
Yantai Bus Station is located in the middle part of Qingnian Lu, right opposite New World Shopping Center. There are many buses from Yantai to Qingdao (three hours), Jinan (five hours and a half), Weihai (one hour) and Penglai (one hour) everyday.
Ferry
Yantai Harbor Ferry Terminal is to the east of the Railway Station. There are ten ferries running between Yantai and Dalian daily and the fares and speed are different depending on different types. The fastest needs only three hours while the slowest may take eight hours.
