Getting Around
There are two types of taxis in Weihai. The base rate for one type is 7 RMB for the first two kilometers and then 1.4 RMB per additional kilometer within eight kilometers and 2.1 RMB per kilometer after that. The base rate for the other type is 5 RMB for the first two kilometers and then 1.2 RMB per additional kilometer within eight kilometers and 1.8 RMB per kilometer after that.
Besides, car rental service is offered in Weihai Tour Car Service Company, Weihai China Travel Agency Motorcade and Weihai Longwei Travel Agency Motorcade etc.
To and From Weihai
Air
Weihai Airport is located in Dashuibo Town, Wendeng City, about 40 km from downtown. There are domestic flights to and from Beijing, Shanghai, Changchun and Guangzhou etc. International flights to Seoul are also available. There is a complete set of service facilities in the airport. Lots of shuttle buses are running between the downtown and the airport.
Railway
Weihai Railway Station is located on the western part of Shenzhen Lu. There are trains to and from Beijing, Jinan and Qingdao. It costs about 15-20 RMB from the railway station to the downtown by taxi.
Bus
There are frequent buses running between Weihai and Jinan, totally taking about six to seven and a half hours depending on the type of the bus.
Buses to Qingdao are also in plenty, taking about three and a half to four hours.
There are also several buses leaving Weihai for Penglai daily and the trip takes less than three hours. You may also go to Yantai first and then transfer a bus to Penglai, for more buses will be available from Weihai to Yantai and from Yantai to Penglai and both trips take only about an hour and a half.
Weihai Long-distance Bus Center is located at No. 74, Dongcheng Lu, nearby Jiefang Lu.
Ferry
Weihai Harbor Ferry Terminal is located at No. 53, Haibin Bei Lu. There are four ferries leaving Weihai Harbor for Dalian daily, taking about seven to eight hours. The fares are different for different ferries. International ferries to Inchon in Korean are also available here yet not daily.
There are also several international ferries to Pyeongtaek, Korea from Longyan Harbor and ferries to Inchon, Korean from Shidao New Harbor every week.
