Getting Around

The base rate for taxis is 5 RMB for the first three kilometers. The city district of Penglai is relatively small and usually it won't cost more than 8 RMB within the city district. For relative far places, you may bargain with the driver about the price.

To and from Penglai

 Bus

Penglai Bus Station is located at the intersection of Beiguan Lu and Zhonglou Bei Lu, about one km from Penglai Pavilion. Buses leave Penglai for Yantai every 15 minutes from 6: a.m. to 6:00 p.m., taking about one hour; Buses for Qingdao leave Penglai every half an hour from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., taking about four hours; Buses to Weifang run every hour from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. taking about four hours; Buses to Jinan taking about six hours are available about eight runs per day; Besides, there are three buses to Weihai daily.

Ferry

Penglai Harbor is located in the northern part of Haigang Lu at the foot of Tianheng Shan Mountain in downtown. There are passenger ferries to Changdao (25-40 minutes) and Lushun (five hours) daily. It costs 5 RMB from the bus station to Penglai Harbor by taxi.

Penglai New Harbor is located at the mouth of Ganghe River in the Economic Development Zone, east of downtown. There are three deluxe vehicle and passenger ferries to Dalian daily.
