Getting Around
The charge for taxis in Changshu is the same as that in Shanghai. The base rate is 11 RMB for the first three kilometers and then 2 RMB per additional kilometer.
To and From Changshu
There is no airport in Changshu. Tourists may fly to Shanghai first and then transfer a bus to Changshu. No railway or freeway is available to Changshu, either. Only National Highway 204 goes through the city. However, there are highways in good condition leading to the nearby cities like Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, Zhangjiagang and Jiangyin. Direct buses to Shanghai, Jiangsu, Hubei, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Fujian, Shandong, Hebei and Henan are all available.
Buses from Changshu to Shanghai mainly stop at Shanghai Long-distance Bus Center and there are buses to Shanghai South Bus Station and Jiading District, too.
There are also special tour buses leaving from different offices of Shanghai Tour Bus Center for Changshu.
