Located ten minutes on foot from the south-east corner of People's Square, the Yunnan Nan Lu Snack Food street is the most historic dining destination still in existence in Shanghai. Lined with a canopy of lanterns and ornaments, Yunnan Nan Lu was, during the nationalist era, Shanghai's culinary capital before falling into disrepair. The street has since been restored and designated as the city's best food street, with famous snack-food brands setting up stalls and restaurants that serve the country's very best zongzi and shengjian as well as various other treats and deserts from Shanghai and beyond.
