Wujiang Lu Snack Food Street  (Shanghai)
0/0  Users recommend

The Wujiang Lu Snack Food Street is known for its Shanghainese snack food and is popular with locals, expats and tourists alike.

Located off of Shimen Lu, just half a block south on Nanjing Lu, Wujiang Lu has been gradually losing its old chaotic feel in favor of a new shopping complex, but the hub of the snack food street remains intact and vendors still hawk their xiao kao (barbecue) and chou doufu (stinky tofu), some of them to long lines of locals willing to wait for particularly well-regarded fare.

Of note is Xiao Yang Sheng Jian Guan, Shanghai's most famous eatery for shengjian (pan-fried dumplings) with a second location at No. 60. During lunch hours, lines grow long in anticipation of a taste of the crispy, juice-filled dumplings.
