Shuhe Old Town   (Lijiang)
0 /0  Users recommend

Shuhe (束河) is a small Naxi village on the outskirts of Lijiang at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Slate-paved streets, beautiful old wooden and stone buildings with traditional Naxi-style upturned eaves create a peaceful and charming atmosphere that is often considerably more relaxed than that found in the more heavily trafficked Lijiang Old Town.

A small river (the village's namesake) is spanned by a Ming Dynasty stone bridge, a natural spring-fed well (the Dragon Pool) bubbles up near an ancient stone stele, and the local Naxi go quietly about their business.

Admission:CNY 30-50  Hours:N/A How to get there:Taxis from Lijiang can be arranged for 30 RMB (round-trip), making the trip from central Lijiang in about 20 minutes. We recommend pre-arranging a return trip, as taxis from Shuhe to Lijiang can often be hard to find. Cycling the same distance takes about a half hour. Many hotels will arrange cars or vans upon request, and many Lijiang tours include Shuhe on the itinerary.
