Shanghai Expo Pavilion: Pacific Islands   (Shanghai)
0 /0  Users recommend

One of the largest international pavilions at the Shanghai 2010 World Expo, the Pacific Islands Pavilion measures more than 8,400 square meters, and hosts 12 island nations and two dependencies, as well as the Pacific Islands Forum and the South Pacific Tourism Organization.

With the theme ”Pacific Ocean – Spring of Inspiration,” exhibitions from Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Palau, Tonga, Micronesia, Samoa, Fiji, the Cook Islands, Kiribati, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, and Tahiti all showcase the diverse beauty of the Pacific region, as well as the island's unique culture and efforts to follow a sustainable lifestyle.

With an entertainment program directed by award-winning, Samoan-born composer Igelese Ete (who previously worked on the Lord of the Rings soundtrack), it's an undoubted highlight of the Expo site.
