Rize Valley (Rìzé Gōu, 日则沟), also known as Rize Gully, runs for 18 km (11 mi) along the southwest arm of Jiuzhaigou National Park. It begins where the road splits at Nuorilang Falls and stretches to the Primeval Forests (sometimes referred as the Virgin Forests), at its furthest point.
Home to a very diverse array of natural scenery including mountains, forests, grasslands, lakes, waterfalls and shoals (sandbanks), the Rize Valley is often where people start their tour of the park, working their way north along wooden boardwalks that hover over streams and meadows.
Often hailed as the most beautiful spot in Jiuzhaigou, Rize Gully has many more natural scenic spots than neighboring Zechawa Valley, from the highest waterfalls to the most colorful lakes and thick, old growth forests. Famous sights to look out for in the Rize Valley include (from north to south): the Primeval Forest, Grass Lake, Swan Lake, Arrow Bamboo Falls, Panda Lake, Five-Flower Lake, Peacock Riverbed, Pearl Lake, Pearl Shoals Waterfall, Golden Bell Lake, Mirror Lake and Nuorilang Waterfalls.
