Mei Mei Café (Měi Měi Kāfēitīng, 美美咖啡厅) is a good place to get your bearings in the thick of Jinghong. Tucked in among a line of other restaurants aimed at the backpacking crowd, it serves up a good mix of Western and local food. The cafe has a great selection of maps you can take with you, and the owner is friendly, knowledgeable and speaks English. It's a great place to gather information and make plans.
