Juixiang Scenic Area is perhaps most famous for its extensive series of caves, loaded with ancient Yi myths (hire a local tour guide to hear some of the stories) and featuring an underground waterfall. Local villages and an impressive view of a scenic gorge round out the highlights of this area 80 kilometers from Kunming and provide lots to see on a full daytrip from the city.

 

 
Admission:90 RMB  Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.  How to get there:Located 47 km (29.2 miles) from Yiliang county town, the scenic area is about 80 km from Kunming. The best way to get there is to take a bus from the Kunming Railway Station, which costs about 15 RMB and takes 2 hours. Another option is to hire a car, which costs around 300 RMB for a whole day.
