Opposite and to the west of Ningbo's Drum Tower, the two-story 15th century Ming Dynasty home which houses the Fan Residence Antique Market (Fànzhái Gǔwán Jíshì, 范宅古玩集市), or simply Ningbo Antique Market, was an overcrowded and unsanitary living space until it was restored in the 1990s, and is now home to antique and art shops.
The antiques are mostly about as genuine as any other cheap market in China (i.e., they aren't), but it's a good place to find "souvenirs with Chinese characteristics." Expect to do some bargaining and aim your price low, especially with the vendors hawking their wares lining the back alley and in the courtyard out front.
Going down the street away from the Drum Tower and past the Ningbo Antique Market takes you to Moon Lake.
