The Falling Pen Cave is located within Lizhigou Town, which is about 15 km away from Sanya city. The cave is formed of natural limestone in a small hill. The entrance of the cave is 12 meters high, 9 meters wide and 18 meters deep. In the middle of the cave there are two hanging stalactite which seem like two huge falling pens. That's why it's called Falling Pen Cave. Right under the hanging stalactites there lie a few big stones of ink-slab shape. It's said the pens and ink-slabs all belong to gods. The two huge 'pens' are damaged during the Cultural Revolution. Now there only remained half of the original pen-shaped stalactites..
