The Shangri-La Golden Flower Hotel (Xian xiangelila jinhua fandian) is located quite far from the city center (25-30 minute cab ride), but the rooms are spacious and clean. The food is good, too, which is a good thing since there's not much nearby outside the hotel.

My friend who is from middle-east Asia thinks the buffet is quite good. He can find whatever he wants to eat.(but I dont like the buffet that much...) Room setting is nice as well.

The hotel is nice and clean, breakfast included in room rate is pretty good too. There is nothing extremely good or bad can be said about this hotel. I guess this is the problem. The hotel just feels dull, no character, no surprises, no charm, unlike any other Shangri-la hotels I have stayed elsewhere.

Mr. Li in Shangri-La Xian provided reliable support to help me reserve train ticket to Dunhuang. In addition, service in this Shangri-La branch hotel is excellent, although the room and environment are not as modern as other east-side cities, I would still give it a full recommendation!
