Home to several charming holdovers from the days when Kashgar was a center of Great Game intrigue and scheming, Kashgar also offers a handful of solidly respectable three and four-star Chinese hotels. Accommodation is generally quite affordable—decent beds can be found for RMB 30-40, but those accustomed to even rather modest levels of luxury might find the going a bit rough. The Seman Hotel and Chini Bagh are two of the aforementioned holdovers, housed on the grounds of the former Russian and British consulates respectively, they offer some of Kashgar's more unique accommodations.
