Zhuaru Temple, the only religious place in Jiuzhaigou, was founded in Ming Dynasty with Tibetan features. The golden shinning roof, luxurious carpets inside the temple, colorful and sacred statues of Buddha show the exquisite structure of the temple. Over a hundred Lama live here. Ceremonies and celebrations are usually held in it.
Liangmin Wangqing Temple Fair (January 5th by Chinese lunar calendar)
Liangmin Wangqing Temple Fair is to commemorate the death of famous Lama of Bon. At that day, Lama in the temple will chant scriptures. Other Tibetan people will worship in the temple to show their faithfulness to their belief and sanctity of their soul with clean clothes.
Mazi Fair (May 1st)
Mazi Fair is a grand religious festival in Zharu Temple. All Lama should be vegetarians, chant scripture and rehearse three days before the fair. Tibetan people in Songpan, Ruoergai, Baozuo, Dalu, Tazang and Longkang dress up to take part in the celebrations in Zharu Temple, presenting Khatag and watching Tibetan Opera. Then several people walk along the river or in the pinewoods, chatting with each other and drinking. A lot of couples go to the deep forest to date.
