Around Dehongzhou There are two county-level municipalities (Luxi and Ruili) and three counties (Longchuan, Yingjiang and Lianghe) under Dehongzhou Autonomous Prefecture. The government of Dehongzhou is located at Luxi. Travelers who come to Dehongzhou usually arrive at Luxi and travel to surrounding areas by bus or car. Taxis do not use meters in this region so its important to bargain and settle on a price before getting into the cab. Traveling within Luxi downtown should cost about 5 RMB. There are many long-distance buses among the two municipalities and three counties, however, schedules change regularly. Everyday six flights fly between Kunming Wujiaba International Airport and Mangshi Airport, and one continues on to Guangzhou via Kunming. Bus 320 National Highway cuts through Dehongzhou, connecting the municipalities and counties inside the prefecture. Everyday there are buses from Kunming Long-distance Bus Station (0871 3544 574) to Dehongzhou. Dali Bus Station (0872 2125 281) also has long-distance buses to Luxi and Ruili. Everyday there are three buses traveling to Dehongzhou leaving at 8:30 a.m., 3:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The trip takes about six to seven hours. Most long-distance buses leaving from Luxi North Bus Station (0692 2121 437) travel to destinations within Yunnan Province but there are buses to Hengyang in Hunan Province every four or five days. Buses to Kunming leave at 11:00 in the morning and every hour until 10:00 pm. The bus takes about 11 hours to Kunming.
